Extreme Heat Expected-Cooling Shelter Opening

A Cooling Shelter will be opening on Friday September 9th from 2PM to 7PM, and Saturday September 10th from 2PM to 7PM, pending volunteer host coverage.  The Shelter will be located  at the Ashland Branch of the Jackson County Public Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd.

Note: Currently volunteers are needed for the City to open a shelter on Saturday.  If there are not enough volunteers the Shelter will not be open on Saturday.

Only service animals will be allowed but must be kept on leashes.  The shelter will be staffed by community volunteers who have requested that guests be mindful of other's health needs, therefore masks will be provided on site.  Donations of water and other cooling refreshments are welcomed and will be accepted at the shelter location during hours of operation.

For more information please contact Linda Reid, Housing Program Specialist at reidl@ashland.or.us or 541-552-2043.
