Juneteenth Celebrations

The Social Equity and Racial Justice Commission is pleased to inform Ashland residents of two Juneteenth Celebrations.

The first will be held on Saturday June 18.  The event is sponsored by the City of Ashland and Southern Oregon University.  Please join in this community celebration on the front lawn of Churchill Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Festivities include raising the Juneteenth flag, music, guest speakers and food trucks.

The second will occur on Sunday June 19 at Pear Blossom Park in Medford from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This family friendly event is an outdoor cultural celebration for the entire community of Southern Oregon featuring food, education, music, and entertainment. This event is a collaboration between BASE, (Black Alliance & Social Empowerment) and the B.E.S.T. team at Oregon’s Department of Human Services.
