CDBG-CARES Act Substantial Amendment and Public Notice
City of Ashland Amends 2019 CDBG Annual Action Plan to Include additional CARES Act Funding awards
The City of Ashland was awarded a special allocation of $293,820 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement funds to be used to prevent, prepare and respond to COVID-19 pandemic in the 2020 and 2021 program years. This allocation was authorized in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act by President Trump on March 27, in response to the growing effects of this historic public health crisis. The CARES Act made available $5 billion in Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds.
The Amended CDBG 2019 Annual Action Plan describes how these funds will be spent locally. Community Development programs recommended for funding in the Amended 2019 CDBG Action Plan include public service programs administered by Options for Helping Residents of Ashland and Rogue Retreat, both of whom offers shelter and services to homeless populations.
Public comments are encouraged and should be submitted to linda.reid@ashland.or.us in the City of Ashland Community Development Department. The Public Comment Period runs from Thursday, April 21 through Wednesday, April 27.
