Great Oregon ShakeOut October 21st: Nixle Message will be Sent

October 21st is the Great Oregon ShakeOut, part of an international day of earthquake preparation and readiness. You can join the Shake Out by registering at the link above.

On Thursday, October 21st Jackson County will be testing the Citizen Alert system and the City of Ashland will also send a Nixle message to promote earthquake preparedness. Some Ashland residents have signed up in the County's system and will get the test message from Jackson County in addition to the Ashland Nixle message.

There is no harm in being in both systems and citizens can sign up at www.ashland.or.us/nixle and at https://jacksoncountyor.org/emergency/Resources/Citizen-Alert.

If you live inside the city limits of Ashland, make sure you're in the Nixle system as a first priority!
