Controlled Burning in Riverwalk Park TODAY - Wednesday, March 24th

As part of our fuels reduction efforts for wildfire​ safety, Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission (APRC) will manage a controlled burn today - Wednesday, March 24th in Riverwalk Park. Professional crews will begin lighting piles at 9 am. There could be some smoke in the park and surrounding neighborhood. Please avoid the area if you are sensitive to smoke and keep windows and doors closed. Crews are going slow and will monitor smoke closely. If you have questions/concerns please contact APRC by email parksInfo@ashland.or.us.

  • Some smoke may impact trails in Riverwalk Park, please avoid this area if you are sensitive to smoke.
  • Smoke will be visible from several parts of the community including from Interstate 5.
