Controlled Burning Continues on Saturday, March 20th: Siskiyou Mountain Park Could Have Some Smoke
As part of our fuels reduction efforts for wildfire safety, Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission (APRC) will manage a controlled burn today - Saturday, March 20th above Park Street in Siskiyou Mountain Park (SMP). During pile lighting, there could be some smoke in the park. Please avoid SMP if you are sensitive to smoke. Crews are going slow and will monitor smoke closely. The controlled burn could be visible from parts of Interstate 5. We do not expect smoke to impact town. Fire Crews with Lomakatsi Restoration Project are monitoring smoke closely.

- Some smoke may impact trails in Siskiyou Mountain Park, please avoid this area if you are sensitive to smoke.
- Smoke will be visible from several parts of the community including from Interstate 5 near the Mt. Ashland freeway exit.
