Controlled Burn Planned on Friday, February 19th near Eastview Trail

Tomorrow, Ashland Forest Resiliency partners plan to do a controlled burn to remove burn piles in the Eastview Trail area below Four Corners. Eastview Trail will have heavy smoke, please avoid this area. No trails or roads will be closed. Professional fire crews will begin at 9 a.m. Ashland Forest Resiliency partners and the Rogue River-Siskiyou Mountain Ranger District will manage the controlled burn for increased community wildfire safety. 

Potential Smoke Impact 
  • Smoke will impact Eastview Trail especially in the morning hours on Friday, February 19th. 
  • Avoid Eastview Trail due to heavy smoke.
  • Smoke can be visible from parts of Ashland and Interstate 5.
  • Find health precautions for smoke on Smokewise Ashland 
Smokewise Air Purifier Program Open 
As defined by the Center of Disease Control, persons under 15, adults over 65 and those who have pre-existing conditions including heart and lung disease, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are most vulnerable to smoke. If you have household members who are at risk, we encourage you to apply.
