Water Curtailment Stage 1

Our community has taken mindful steps to use water wisely this summer and we want to thank you for all your efforts. However, recent weather conditions, fire activity, shutoff of the TID source, and access to the TAP intertie system being temporarily compromised due to the fires the current demand on the water system is higher than the inflow from the East and West Forks of Ashland Creek to Reeder Reservoir. In other words, the Cityís Reservoir supply cannot keep up with the water demands of our community. Until such time as the TAP source is available and/or demand drops below the supply source volumes entering Reeder Reservoir the City will institute water supply shortage curtailment measurers.

The City will enter into water curtailment stage 1 as of September 14, 2020. There are four stages of curtailment detailed in Ashland Municipal Code 14.06 with stage 4 providing the strictest consumption usage.

Curtailment Stages for a typical residential customer with a .75Ē water meter:
Stage 1: 3600 cubic feet per month (26,929 gallons)
Stage 2: 2500 cubic feet per month (18,701 gallons)
Stage 3: 1800 cubic feet per month (13,464 gallons)
Stage 4: 900 cubic feet per month (6,732 gallons)

We also ask residents to eliminate water waste during this time to the maximum extent feasible.

  • Donít allow water to run off onto streets, sidewalks, driveways or adjacent property for more than five minutes.
