Partnering with the Ashland Chamber of Commerce, the City of Ashland is proud to support our community and businesses during the planned
Ashland Summer Celebration. We want to emphasize that public health and safety is the most important part of reopening. By wearing face coverings, whether inside or outside of buildings downtown, we can continue to support business reopening, and staying open.
“With the July 1 Governor’s Order to wear masks inside all public spaces and the number of people who could potentially gather in close proximity downtown, wearing a mask is an important sign and awareness and caring for one another in our community,” said Adam Hanks, Interim City Administrator. “Keeping infection numbers down locally isn’t only a public health priority, but with counties and states now reversing their reopening, wearing a mask and physical distancing preserves the ongoing economic recovery for our local businesses,” added Hanks.
As a supporter of the Summer Celebration, the City has helped with the use of public spaces for upcoming weekend activities. Sidewalks, parking spaces, streets, and the plaza have been considered for expanded public and commerce use during the summer series. Citizens will see a variety of public spaces expanded for business activity over the summer and configurations of public spaces will shift from weekend to weekend depending on needs, experience, and protecting public health.
We ask the community to help us stay safe and stay open this summer while participating in a scaled back, but still very enjoyable version of Ashland’s traditional Fourth of July celebration.
