Burn Continues Sunday, May 13th: Roads and Trails Closed Above Granite St

A controlled burn will continue Sunday, May 13th along the Ashland Loop Road off the end of Granite St. The upper part of the unit was dense with ground fuels and progress was slow on Saturday.

The Loop Road will be closed approximately 1.5 miles up from the yellow forest gate.  Fell on Knee and the new Wonder trail will be closed. Hitt Road/2060-300 will be open, but PLEASE USE CAUTION. Firefighters and engines will be working on the road.

Smoke will be visible from many places in town and down the valley. Smoke could slip downhill in the late evening and affect Granite Street and downtown, depending on wind patterns. Residents sensitive to smoke should be aware of conditions and shut windows if needed. Any smoke should be gone by morning.
