Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission (APRC) has been awarded the US Lacrosse First Stick
Grant. The grant will provide equipment valued at $1300 for boys and girls to learn the basic skills of Lacrosse. The grant will also supply 30 youth Lacrosse memberships and two parent/coach Lacrosse memberships.
In March, APRC will partner with the Lacrosse Team at Southern Oregon University (SOU) to offer a Youth Lacrosse Clinic. The FREE clinic will take place at the SOU stadium, March 17, from 1 to 3 p.m.
The instructor Mark Brown played lacrosse at Virginia Tech University and has served as head coach at SOU from 2005-Present. He is 4-time PNCLL Coach of the Year. Instructor AJ Chase was a 4-year SOU starter and the only player in SOU History with 100 career goals and 100 career assists.

US Lacrosse supports communities by funding grants that help facilitate age-appropriate Lacrosse activities and training. They support the development of well-rounded athletes and leaders who perform in activities and sports beyond Lacrosse.
