Mistletoe Road Grass Fire Update - August 27 at 3:15 p.m.

Firefighters responded to the report of a grass fire off of Mistletoe today, August 27 at 1:09 p.m. The fire is estimated to be approximately 4-5 acres. Firefighters from Ashland Fire & Rescue, JCFD #5, Medford Fire Rescue, Oregon Department of Forestry, USFS and two ODF helicopters responded to the fire. The fire threatened structures and crossed the railroad tracks before being knocked down. Immediate evacuations of a few homes occurred at the time of the fire; however, there are no continued evacuations or road closures at this time. The fire will continue to put up smoke while firefighters work to gain containment.


Hikers on trails in the Ashland area are encouraged to call 9-1-1 to report campfires with smoke, heat or flames. If you see camping areas without an active campfire, please contact Ashland Fire & Rescue, Chris Chambers at 541.552.2066.
