At the June 16, 2009 meeting, the City Council approved the Mayor's appointment of an ad hoc Croman Advisory Committee (CAC) to assist the Planning Commission with preparing an implementation strategy for the Croman Mill Site Redevelopment Plan. The CAC includes representatives from the surrounding neighborhood, the Chamber of Commerce, SOU, the City Council, and the Planning Commission, as well as representatives from a variety of City advisory commissions such as the Housing Commission, Transportation Commission, and Tree Commission.

The CAC is responsible for:

 1) Providing comments and suggestions regarding the implementation strategy, as well as recommending slight adjustments to the elements of the Draft Plan;
 2) Representing the broader viewpoints and expertise of each member's respective commission or stakeholder group;
 3) Routinely reporting back and updating respective City commission or stakeholder groups on the status and progress of the plan implementation process; and
 4) Periodically appearing before the Planning Commission to explain and discuss the
committee's suggestions or comments.
The CAC will meet periodically through the summer and fall to review and discuss the revisions to the Ashland Land Use Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan necessary for the implementation of the Croman Mill Site Redevelopment Plan.
