Mural
The PAC voted unanimously to accept the Calle Mural into the city’s public art collection.

Garrington noted how flexible and accommodating both Denise Baxter and artist Loreto were to the PAC review during the process.  All agreed the mural adds a lot to the entrance to the Calle.

Mural Guidelines
Garrington provided a brief overview of the development of the mural guidelines and noted that Councilor Marsh has requested an opportunity to review the guidelines.

The PAC made edits to the existing guidelines with the following notable changes:
  1. Consistent use of the word applicant throughout the document
  2. Use the term Lead Artist
  3. Create a two part process under Mural Presentation Package
  4. Staff will revise the section related to contracts, art easement and maintenance

Art Trail Update
Bussell reported that the artist is still working on the approved design for the Bandersnatch Trail but does not know the timeline for installation.

The Art Trail group has lost two of its three members and Bussell wonders if the PAC wants to take up the vision of the original group to install public art along trails.  It was suggested that the PAC discuss this at their upcoming Goal Setting meeting.

Next Steps Theater Corridor
The group reviewed the timeline for the project that was developed in April.  PAC will request space at the library for a display in November, December and January inviting citizens to respond to questions similar to the Word Cloud questions used for the Gateway. A first Friday event will be held in February and a meeting for the public to meet the artist and respond to question will occur when the artist is in town.

PAC members have sent the RFQ to the list of contacts and will continue to send the RFQ to new contacts when identified.  New contact information should be sent to Bussell to include on the master list.

Goal Setting
The PAC will meet later this fall to set goals for the next three years.  The current goals were set in 2013 and covered the years through 2015.

Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
