MINUTES FOR THE MEETING

ASHLAND FOREST LANDS COMMISSION

September 11, 2007 – 5:30 PM

I.                CALL TO ORDER: Chair Anthony Kerwin called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM in the Siskiyou Room. Zach Williams has officially resigned from the Commission.

II.              APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Lewis/Maymar m/s to approve the minutes of July 10, 2007 as submitted. Motion passed unanimously.  

III.            PUBLIC FORUM: None

IV.            ADJUSTMENTS TO THE AGENDA: None   

V.              OLD BUSINESS

A.     Review and Vote on AFR Implementation, Mitigation and Monitoring Comments to Forest Service – Contract Forester, Marty Main led the meeting. The commission and those present reviewed drafts of recommended implementation, mitigation and monitoring strategies.

Kerwin / Maymar m/s to approve the conceptual plan for implementation, mitigation and monitoring strategies for the Forest Service’s Ashland Fire Resiliency project. Motion passed unanimously. Commission directed Main and staff to draft a letter including these strategies and then email the draft letter to the commission, Frank Betlejewski and Darren Borgias. If there were any major objects a special commission meeting would be held. If not, the letter would be sent by October 1^st .
