September 16, 2006
Present: Benson, Longshore, Markell, Bayard, Wilkerson,

Meeting called to order by Benson at 8:20 am.
Minutes from July: accepted as submitted. No August minutes due to lack of quorum.
Julia Summer made a brief presentation to supply information about artistic bike racks and to raise the possibility of placing such racks around
Calle report: The selection panel reviewed submissions and chose Steve Jensen's work to be placed on both pedestals in the sculpture garden. One of those works was subsequently sold, and a replacement was chosen rather than select work from the other entrants.
Longshore moved to accept the selection panel recommendation and forward to Parks for final approval, Wilkerson seconded, motion passed unanimously.
Bayard to present selection to Parks Commission asap.
Calle Phase 1: Concrete poured, tiles nearly completed. Final installation could happen this fall. Benson and Bayard to meet with representative from JCCC to review grant application as part of their granting process.
McGee report: Longshore reported that of 25 applications, 13 were determined to fully comply with RFP requirements. Selection panel to meet on Tuesday, September 20. A special PAC meeting was asked for to review selection panel's decision to forward that on to the City Council asap. Meeting Friday, October 7, 8:15 am in usual meeting place. Bayard to book the room with Susan Yates.
Lack of attendence by new commissioners discussed. Benson to attempt verbal contact to inquire into absences. Do we need to revisit meeting time? Will wait to hear from Benson before changing.
