Calle
Bayard, Pugh and Wilkerson will continue to work on the Calle project. Immediate work includes: prepare an update on the Calle II presentation to the Parks Commission for their August meeting and include information regarding recognition of Arnie Krigel memorial sculpture garden, consider the process for selling/responding to inquiries about the Calle II sculptures, think about how to reach out to the community to invite people to participate on the selection panel.
Fundraising
Benson, Gay, Bayard,
McGee
Markell, Longshore will continue the work on the McGee project. Immediate work includes reaching out to the community to invite people to sit on the selection panel,.
Marketing
Immediate work includes: Longshore and Markell to research how other Public Art agencies “get the word out” to artist about the RFP and will get examples of RFP from other cities.
Some discussion centered around the “presentation” of the RFP and that it may need a visual aide to draw attention. Pugh wonders if the RFP is too dry and government like and perhaps doesn’t encourage artists to read the RFP. Wilkerson suggests an e?mail survey to artists to understand why more people haven’t responded to the RFPs.
