Minutes of the January 21 meeting were not approved and will be reviewed at the march 18 meeting.
The committee gathered to discuss the proposed RFP for the McGee memorial. After hearing the presentations given during the Public Forum Workshop, the committee agreed to “re-visit” the proposed location of the memorial and the timeline for the RFP.
The proposed site might still be the best, but the sub-committee wants to re-visit all the potential sites through “fresh eyes”.
The McGee memorial sub-committee will report at the March meeting.
Bayard wonders how to incorporate public art into the overall downtown visioning process. It was suggested that PAC request a joint session with the historic commission to discuss how to incorporate histroic preservation and public art into the downtown visioning process and ultimately to ensure that language to that effect is in the final downtown plan. Seltzer will contact the Historic Commission staff liaison to arrange a joint meeting.
With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 1:30 a.m.
