First Meeting

Regular Meeting Minutes
Attendance
Commissioners Bayard, Dvora, Benson, Todd, Jorgensen, Krigel, Demele, Jackson (Council liaison), Seltzer (staff liaison) were present.
Call to Order
Jackson called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.
Introductions
Jackson welcomed the group to the first meeting of the newly formed Public Art Commission. The Commissioners introduced themselves and briefly explained their background and interest in volunteering for the Commission.
The group reviewed the duties and responsibilities of the Commission and resources for information about other cities and public art. Jackson spoke briefly about the City of Ashland Comprehensive Plan.
Election of Chair
Ron Demele made a motion nominating Bruce Bayard as chair, Richard Benson seconded the motion and the group voted unanimously to appoint Bruce Bayard as chair.
Meeting Dates and Times
The group decided to meet twice per month for the next six months. Meetings will occur on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Siskiyou Room of the Community Development, Public Works and Engineering Building at 51 Winburn Way.
Agenda Items for Next Meeting
Begin to develop a list of possible projects.
Begin discussion on procedures and guidelines.
