Ashland Park Closures Follow Governor’s New Order

Effective immediately, Ashland Parks and Recreation is closing many park facilities, playgrounds and sports courts/fields to further reduce spread of the coronavirus as directed by Governor Brown and the Oregon Health Authority this morning. Restroom facilities will remain open along well-used trails, but many others will close. Portable bathrooms, hand wash stations and trash facilities are already available and will continue where any restrooms are closed

Effective immediately, the following facilities will be closed:
• All playgrounds throughout the Ashland Park system
• All basketball courts, tennis courts and pickleball courts
• All sports fields, including North Mountain Park Baseball and Softball Fields; Hunter Park Baseball Fields
• Ashland Dog Park
• Ashland Skate Park
• Garfield Park Volleyball; Splash Pad and Basketball Court
• Oak Knoll Golf Course
• Daniel Meyer Pool
• Any facility not previously mentioned where proper social distancing cannot be maintained

The Governor’s Order encourages Oregonians to exercise either alone or only with immediate family/household members. All walking paths, trails, and bike routes in parks and community are open for public use.
