Hersey Street Construction Update

The next phase of the Hersey Street Reconstruction Project has begun.  This phase of the project will include the replacement of non-compliant sidewalk access ramps, installation of new and upgrades to existing storm drain and installation of additional street lights.  The final piece will include a full resurfacing of the street from Lori Lane to N. Mountain Avenue.

The contractor that is performing the work is Knife River Materials and inspection of the project is being completed by OBEC Consulting Engineers. City of Ashland staff will also continue to be available as needed to help resolve any issues that arise.

The project is currently scheduled to be completed in early to mid-October.  Please be aware that traffic flow and parking may be affected as construction continues and various detours will continue throughout the duration of the project. Your cooperation in obeying construction signs and any parking restrictions will be greatly appreciated by all concerned and will definitely help the project run smoothly and quickly to its final completion. This will also help to preserve public safety by ensuring access to the site by emergency vehicles, should the need arise.

If you have any questions or concerns as we move through the construction, feel free to call (541) 488-5347.
