A community volunteer run cooling shelter is open Monday August 9th-Friday August 13th. The Shelter is located at 48 Fifth Street in Ashland. The Shelter will be open from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM.
A cooling shelter will be open in Medford at the Senior Center located at 510 E. Main Street on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM and at the Medford Library located at 205 S. Central Ave. on Wednesday and Friday 12:00 PM-8:00 PM. RVTD will be offering free rides to and from the Medford shelter during normal operation hours.
The Talent Community Center located at 104 E. Main Street, will be open from Tuesday August 10th through Sunday August 15th from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM.
The Ashland Public Library will be open to the public during regular hours of operation.
During the upcoming extreme weather event the City of Ashland will be offering some additional resources to help citizens stay safe and find relief from the extreme conditions.
The Ashland Police Department will have water bottles available to those in need. Officers will carry additional water bottles with them and will be looking for opportunities to assist those that might be vulnerable heat exhaustion or could benefit from some proactive assistance.
Ashland Fire and Rescue will have water bottles outside of each fire station for those needing cooling hydration.
