Sign Up for Green Debris Drop Off Day, May 31st

Ashland’s 9th Annual Green Debris Drop Off Day will take place on Sunday, May 31st from 8:30AM-3:30PM at Valley View Transfer Station, 3000 N Valley View Drive. Ashland residents must sign up to attend. Residents can sign up by visiting ashland.or.us/cleanupday

Shifting the event to a Sunday will maximize social distancing, because Valley View Transfer Station will only be open for those who sign up for Green Debris Drop Off Day. No other materials or persons will be admitted on this day.

Unlike past years, you must sign up for the event to attend, and only the first 200 Ashland residents to sign up will be admitted. This will ensure that participation is spread out, further improving the ability to be socially distant from one another.

Green Debris Drop Off Day is an annual opportunity for Ashland residents to remove green debris from their yards in order to reduce the wildfire fuels on their property at no cost to them. Common green debris wildfire fuels around the home include leaves, tree branches, and brush. These materials are common culprits for spreading wildfire closer to homes and should be removed from the property. Leaves and dense brush can hold wildfire embers and ignite, spreading flames closer to your home, while lower tree limbs and dense shrubs can carry fire from the ground into the canopy of trees, making the wildfire uncontrollable.

Only green debris will be accepted. A description of acceptable materials can be found at ashland.or.us/cleanupday

Both Ashland Fire & Rescue and Recology Ashland emphasize that if residents do not want to wait for the event to drop off flammable green debris, Valley View Transfer Station accepts green debris every day, M-Sat, at the cost of $9.35 per cubic yard.
