Ashland Fire & Rescue responded to a structure fire last night about 8:35 p.m. in the alleyway between Alison Street and Fairview Street, just east of the library. No injuries occurred to the occupants or firefighters. Crews from Ashland Fire & Rescue, Ashland Police Department, and Jackson County Fire District #5 responded to the fire and kept it from spreading to nearby homes, but there was heavy damage to the building where the fire started. Though the fire started on the exterior of the structure, an exact cause is still under investigation.
