Two Controlled Burns Planned for Wednesday, January 24th, 2018
Update: Crews with Lomakatsi Restoration Project and Grayback Forestry, Inc.are adding a burn on the northwest of town around Ashland Mine Road. Smoke will be visible from the North end of town down to the I-5 interchange and around Jackson Wellspring.
AFR Project partners will conduct two controlled burns on Wednesday, January 24th. The first burn continues today's work on private land off the upper end of Ashland Mine Road. Smoke may be visible on the western edge of town in the Wright's Creek area.
The second burn is southeast of town on upper Tolman Creek Road (2080 Road) on U.S. Forest Service land about a half mile after the pavement ends. Hikers on the Toothpick Trail could smell smoke during the day, so please avoid the area if you're sensitive to smoke.
