City of Ashland, Oregon / Applications, Permits, Licenses, Fees / Community Development Permits and Fees / Systems Development Charges (SDC's)

Systems Development Charges (SDC's)

The City of Ashland has, since 1991, collect Systems Development Charges (SDC's) to assist in paying for the impacts of new development on the City's existing various systems, including water, wastewater, transportation (streets, sidewalks, bike lanes, etc), storm drains and parks.

Oregon law has specific requirements about what charges can be levied on new development. Charges can only be collected for the areas listed above. They cannot be charged for schools, police, fire or other government services. The fee structure for the systems development charges has been established and modified through extensive public involvement with an ad-hoc citizen committee.

Current residential and commercial SDC fees can be found in the attached document files. For more information please contact the Community Development Department at (541) 488-5305.
