RE: Appointments to Ad Hoc Ashland Fiber Network Options Committee

July 19, 2005 Council Meeting

At the June 7, 2005 City Council meeting, council authorized the mayor, with the approval of council, to appoint an Ad Hoc Ashland Fiber Network Options Committee. The charge of the committee is to analyze operational options for the Ashland Fiber Network and provide guidance to the City Council on those options. It is expected that the committee's work will be completed within 90 days.

At the June 7 City Council meeting, council also agreed that members will be selected to ensure there is the following: business, technical, industry and financial. With the consent of council, this will confirm my appointments of the following to the newly formed Ad Hoc Ashland Fiber Network Options Committee:

Richard Barth
Paul Mace
Paul Collins
Michael Donovan
Kevin Shultz
Lester Ingber

Attached are copies of the applications, and a copy of the advertisement as it appeared in the Daily Tidings. The deadline for applications was July 11, 2005. The vacancy was also advertised on the City's Web site, and on the notice board in City Hall.
