Statement:
The City of Ashland Public Arts Commission (PAC) is seeking funding for the procurement, installation and maintenance of public art.

Background:
At the Citizen's Budget Committee meeting on Monday May 2, the committee recommended that the request for funding for the Public Arts Commission first be heard by the city council and then brought back to the budget committee.

The PAC has developed three possible funding options for consideration by the city council. The options are detailed in the attached memo that was submitted by the PAC to the budget committee.

Funds are allocated for various city commissions through city departments.

Council Options:
1) Review and recommend one of the three funding options outlined in the attached memo and direct staff to incorporate it into the administration budget.
2) Determine an alternative funding method.
3) Reject any funding for public art.

Staff Recommendation:
This item is being presented in response to the recommendation of the Budget Committee.
Possible Motions:
Move to approve option #1, #2 or #3 for funding public art and to direct staff to incorporate it into the administration budget and bring it forward to the full budget committee on Thursday, May 19.
