Approval: Gino Grimaldi

Statement:
HB2025 and SB539 "requires water suppliers serving more than 10,000 people to fluoridate the water supply."
0
Background:
During Public Forum of the February 15 regular council meeting Deborah Gordon expressed to the council her concerns of the above bills. Gordon asked that the council formally oppose these bills and ask that the questions she has sent to the Department of Human Services (DHS) be answered.

HB2025 passed out of the House Water Committee on Wednesday, February 24, 2005. The committee has asked the Speaker of the House to rescind the referral to the Ways and Means Committee, as they believe it no longer will have a financial impact and to send it directly to the House for a vote. As of February 25, the Speaker had not responded to the request. The bill has been amended from its original form.

SB539 has been referred to the Senate Environment and Land Use Committee; no action has occurred at this time.
