Submitted By:

Recommendation:

It is recommended that the Council adopt a resolution adopting the Oregon Department of Aviation Minimum Standards for Commercial Aeronautical Activities for Oregon State-Owned Category IV Airports for use at the Ashland Municipal Airport.

Fiscal Impact:

Adoption of the resolution will result in consistent practices and in establishing consistent fees for commercial operations at the Ashland Airport. Over time, the result of this action should assist to provide additional income to the airport.

Background:

The Airport has struggled with staff writing independent minimum standards for the Ashland Airport. The Oregon department of Aviation has developed a standard for all airports and has a known consistency in their documents. The Airport Commission has evaluated the document and is recommending approval. Staff will develop guidelines based on these minimum standards for commercial activities at the Ashland Municipal Airport.
