AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF GROSS REVENUES TO EXCLUDE REVENUE
FROM CABLE MODEMS UNDER THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS CHAPTER OF THE ASHLAND MUNICIPAL
CODE
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Annotated to show deletions and additions to the code sections being modified.
Deletions are lined through and additions are underlined.
SECTION 1. Section 16.04.040.L of the Ashland Municipal Code is amended
to read:

L. Gross Revenue. Except for a telecommunications utility, gross revenue
means gross revenue derived by grantee from the provision of telecommunications
services originating or terminating in the city on facilities covered by
the franchise. After July 1, 2004, gross revenues shall not include any revenue
derived from cable modem services. For the purposes of this definition net
uncollectibles from revenue included in gross revenues may be excluded from
gross revenues. For a telecommunications utility, gross revenue means those
revenues derived from exchange access services, as defined in ORS 401.710,
less net uncollectibles from such revenues. |
