Fire Protection Plans Review Permit Fees
Fire protection plans review fees will be applied to any building permit
that is routed by, or requires interaction with, the fire department. This
includes fire suppression and fire alarm systems. These fees will also be
applied to subdivision / plat check reviews which are initiated by Public
Works Engineering Division. These fees are in addition to and separate from
the Building Permit. These fees will be paid following existing city policies.
(Prior to issuance of the Building Permit, when Plat Check is submitted for
review, or when Subdivision Engineering Service Fees memo is paid.) These
fees address those fire protection issues and features, which are not addressed
by the Oregon Structural Specialty Code. (Ex: fire apparatus access, fire
hydrants and required fire hydrant flows, the specified locations for fire
department pumper connections, fire alarm panels and access key boxes)
The fee structure is:
ITEM |
FEE |
| Any Building Permit |
10% of the Building Permit Fee and Plan Check fees. |
| New Subdivision or Land Partition |
10% of the Engineering Subdivision Plat Check Fee |
Fire Hydrant Flow Tests required for new installations will be assessed at
$100 per flow test.
Any review required by the Oregon Uniform Fire Code, and which does not involve
a building permit, will be charged at the rate of $50.00 per hour. A minimum
charge of $25.00 will be assessed to these reviews.
When the Building Division assesses additional fees for plan reviews and/or
field inspections, any fire department staff time associated with that activity
will be included in their fees at their specified rate.
