RESOLUTION NO. 2004-____

A resolution authorizing a rate increase in residential and commercial solid waste and recyclable materials collection and disposal rates for Ashland Sanitary & Recycling

Recitals:

A. Ashland Sanitary & Recycle has a franchise with the City of Ashland to provide solid waste and recyclable materials collection and disposal services within the City.

B. The franchise agreement, Ordinance 2582, provides that Ashland Sanitary & Recycling can petition the City Council to increase its solid waste collection and disposal rates.

C. The franchise requires that rate increases must be approved by Council resolution.

THE CITY OF ASHLAND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The rates for the collection of residential and commercial solid waste and recyclable materials collection and disposal within the city of Ashland as indicated in Exhibit "A" are approved.

SECTION 2. The adopted rates will take effect in March 2004.

SECTION 3. This resolution takes effect upon signing by the Mayor.
