Demonstration Gardens surround the Nature Center, each designed with a unique theme:  the

Butterfly Garden, Reptile and Amphibian Garden, Herb Garden, Heirloom Garden, Native Plant Garden, and the Bird Buffet (a variety of interpretive materials are available to help you navigate the gardens).

The gardens are maintained by volunteers, using sustainable gardening methods. They provide habitat for wildlife and serve as an educational and recreational resource for park visitors. Group tours can be arranged by calling the Nature Center at 541.488.6606.

You can learn more about these gardens by attending one of our FREE garden tours, led by a Master Gardeners and Volunteer Docents.

  • Demonstration Garden tours take place May through September
  • 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., on the second Wednesday of each month.
  • Please see our newsletter for this season's exact dates.

Also, you can learn more about the plants in these gardens by registering for a program offered through the Nature Center. To find out how you can help out in the gardens, or to learn more about scheduled classes, visit or call the Nature Center at 541.488.6606.

Special thanks to all the wonderful volunteer gardeners whose hard work and creative energy have helped make a community vision come to life.
