AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ASHLAND MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2.04.040 BY REVISING RULES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WITH RESPECT TO PUBLIC HEARINGS AND FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE PUBLIC HEARING

THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Subsection A.5 of Section 2.04.040 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by adding the following sentence thereto:

A. Except as provided in subsection B hereof, the order of business of the Council shall be:

5. Public hearings, subject to the limitations of Subsection D and first readings of ordinances that pertain to the public hearing.

The foregoing ordinance was first READ on the 4th day of November, 2003, and duly PASSED and ADOPTED this __ day of _______________, 2003.
