City of Ashland, Oregon / Administration / Climate and Energy Action Plan

Climate and Energy Action Plan
The City of Ashland is developing a Climate and Energy Plan to reduce local greenhouse gas emissions and prepare the community for a changing climate.  With approval from the City Council, Mayor Stromberg has appointed an ad-hoc Climate and Energy Plan committee and has tasked the committee with providing oversight on the work of City staff and the project consultant and ultimately making recommendations on the following:
  • Establishment of goals and targets that reduce local green house gases and protect people and resources from the ongoing impacts of climate change.
  • Creation of a set of measurable actions the City and the community can take to achieve the goals and targets set, both short term and long term that considers cost, feasibility, community acceptance and likelihood of success.
  • Process for ongoing measurement and reporting on progress towards goal and target achievement
  • Assistance and assurance of broad and inclusive public involvement in the plan development process
