Ashland Parks & Recreation would like to thank the 42 youth who recently completed the Youth Conservation Corps this summer. The 2018 YCC program offered three four-day sessions working in our City parks and trails this past June and July.
Incoming eighth through twelfth graders from the Rogue Valley repaired trails, planted native species, attacked invasive blackberries and scotch broom, and chipped trails at Ashland Pond, North Mountain Park, Oredson Todd Woods, the Calle Guanajuato and Lithia Park.
Academic Community Service Hours
After successfully completing the program, participants earned 25 hours of academic community service per session plus recreation passes to the Daniel Meyer Pool and the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink.
