Ashland Parks & Recreation would like to thank the 43 youth who recently completed the Youth Conservation Corps this summer. The 2017 YCC program offered three four-day sessions working in our City parks and trails this past June and July.
Incoming eighth through twelfth graders from the Rogue Valley helped maintain trails in Siskiyou Mountain Park, attacked invasive species, hand watered newly planted native species and chipped trails at Ashland Pond, North Mountain and Lithia Park.
Academic Community Service Hours
After successfully completing the program, participants earned 25 hours of academic community service per session plus recreation passes to the Daniel Meyer Pool and the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink.
