Message from the Mayor

 
Dear Ashland Citizens,
 
On November 29, the Ashland Police hosted a community forum at the Ashland High School and provided an update on the investigation into the murder of David Michael Grubbs.
 
At that meeting I invited citizens to contact me with suggestions on how we can look out for each other during these difficult times.
I've received the following suggestions so far:
 

Suggestions Status as of 12/14/11
Put lights on the bike-path City staff is analyzing the logistics and cost for review by City Council
Install a memorial bench City staff is reviewing the proposal submitted at the December 6 Council meeting
Add citizen contributions to the reward Instuctions are posted on the City website. Click on "Crimestoppers Reward" in the column to your left
Removal of Parks & Recreation storage shed next to parking lot entrance to bike path  Pending staff review
Security evaluation of bike path by City police Pending staff review
Community safety seminar Pending staff review
Neighborhood meetings Pending staff review
Promotion of VIP (Volunteers In Police) program Pending staff review
Change scope of Transportation Commission to include community safety Pending staff review
Hold a Take Back the Night style event on the Bike Path  Pending Community Organization
