Synopsis: The Mayor and various members of the Citizens' Budget Committee have requested council discuss and consider a possible reallocation of monies of the City's Transient Occupancy Tax. Currently, the source of funding for the Economic & Cultural Development Grant program is from the City's Transient Occupancy Tax. The Budget Committee, at its Economic and Cultural Development Grant Presentations meeting of March 5, 2003 discussed issues with the current allocations of the anticipated tax monies. A portion of the minutes is attached which refers to this issue.
Recommendation: None. For discussion purposes only.
Fiscal Impact: The council will consider the fiscal impacts of any changes made to Transient Occupancy Tax reallocation.
Background: Attached is a copy of Resolution 2000-25, which sets forth the current allocations of the Hotel/Motel tax monies. Also attached is a copy of the Economic and Cultural Grants Summary setting forth the Transient Occupancy Tax Revenue and the budgeted percentages to the Chamber of Commerce, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and others.
