City of Ashland, Oregon / Parks and Recreation / Nature Center / Stewardship / 2) Outdoor Service

Outdoor Service through North Mountain Park

Service programs provide students, ages 10 and up, and community members with opportunities to engage in outdoor stewardship activities at North Mountain Park or other park sites. Participants are provided with tools, snacks, and instruction and background information relevant to the specific service projects. No formalized educational program is included.

On Saturday, April 2, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm a work party will take place in Lithia Park. Learn amazing facts about invasive plants while you help to control them in Lithia Park with the guidance of Ashland Parks & Recreation staff and volunteers. You choose your target species for the day: Scotch Broom or Herb Robert. Tools, gloves and snacks will be provided. Meet at the Lithia Park bandshell.

For more information on this work party and other outdoor service opportunities please contact the Department's Volunteer Coordinator, Lori Ainsworth, via email or 541.552.2264.
