Current Volunteer Needs at North Mountain Park
  • Flyer Poster - Help with posting flyers on Mondays to about 5 locations in Ashland.

  • Gardeners - Help in the Demonstration Gardens at North Mountain Park.  No green thumb needed!  Anyone can help during the growing season as a Drop-in Gardener. The Adopt-A-Garden program involves committing to care for a small garden area.  New volunteers are also welcome to join the Heirloom Garden Committee, which meets monthly and works to maintain the garden in front of the Nature Center.

  • Adopt the Lower Plant Loop trail - Take care of the plants along the Lower Plant Loop by weeding around them.  Also help to keep the plant signs clean and straight and the brochure box stocked with plant lists (and free of insects). Summer and Fall.  No experience necessary.

  • Field Program Instructors and Assistants - If you enjoy kids and being outside, you can help teach about the Natural and Cultural history of the Rogue Valley. We offer field trips for K-5 students, for seven weeks in the spring and fall.  Volunteers are asked to teach, or assist, one program each week during the field season.

  • Student Projects - A variety of student project opportunities are available depending upon the season.  Make a difference with your CAP-stone or internship.  Contact us to discuss options.
