Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)
The Community Wildfire Protection Plan was completed in 2004 and adopted by the City Council. This document synthesizes issues relevant to homeowners in the wildland urban interface as well as our municipal watershed. The plan was submitted to the US Forest Service and accepted as an official CWPP under the Healthy Forest Restoration Act of 2003. The plan is LARGE (8.0 MB). High speed internet is recommended for downloading the CWPP and associated maps. CD copies can be obtained from Chris Chambers at Ashland Fire & Rescue Station #1.
NOTE: Documents referred to in the CWPP Appendix are available by selecting "Wildfire Protection Plan Appendices" from the left-hand menu on this screen. Chapter 8 (watershed plans) appendix items and public comments are located at the end of that chapter.
The Community Alternative in the CWPP has been modified and approved by City and Forest Service and is now being implemented as the Ashland Forest Resiliency Stewardship Project. The project website is www.ashlandwatershed.org
