Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission
The Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission (APRC) is overseen by a five-member elected Parks Commission. The goal of the Parks Commission is to provide and promote recreational opportunities and to preserve and maintain public lands. Learn about the Commission Goal Status.
The Parks & Recreation Commission has the power to adopt by-laws, rules and regulations for the proper conduct of public recreation in the City. The Commission coordinates recreational facilities now within the City, or hereafter to be constructed or created. The Commission shall have the power to conduct any form of recreation or cultural activity that will employ the leisure time of the people of Ashland and vicinity in a constructive and wholesome manner.
Commission Meetings take place the 4th Monday of every month, 7:00 p.m. at the Council Chambers, 1175 E Main Street. The meetings are broadcast live on RVTV. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to participate in this meeting, please contact the City Administratorís office at 541.488.6002 (TTY phone number 1.800.735.2900). Notification 72 hours prior to the meeting will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting (28CFR 35.102-35.104 ADA Title I). Beginning April 15, 2014, City of Ashland televised meetings will occur on channel 180 for Charter subscribers. Ashland TV subscribers can continue viewing City meetings on channel 9.
