The City of Ashland encourages home based business through a
straight forward and easy to use permitting process. In addition to the
home occupation permit, you will also need to complete a Business Registration/License application.

It is always recommended to check in with the Ashland Community Development Department Staff, who can help you verify that your potential business location is zoned for the type of business you are planning to start. They can also assist help with any specific occupancy issues your business or site may have, such as Disability requirements, Health Dept issues for restaurants and other food service businesses, etc
Additionally, Community Development Staff can assist you in any preparations and review needed for the installation of signs for your new business. A sign guide has been developed to step through the sign code requirements for the downtown area.
