Economic Opportunities Analysis

In 2006 and 2007, the City of Ashland received a grant from the State Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) to complete an Economic Opportunities Analysis (EOA).

The EOA is a technical study that compares local demand of industrial and other employment uses to the existing land supply. The information derived from the EOA helps the community to better implement local economic development objectives as well as to evaluate and develop supporting Comprehensive Plan policies.

Also included in the grant was the development of a preliminary implementation plan or list of potential economic development strategies based upon the information obtained from the EOA and the public workshop and survey work that was conducted by the consultant and the Community Development staff.

The EOA document was completed in March of 2007 and the preliminary implementation plan was completed in May of 2007
