Greenway Detour
Posted: Wednesday, September 15, 1999

Construction to replace and rebuild the antiquated Ashland Creek Pump Station will begin Sept 7th. As a part of this construction, the City's contractor will be boring under Ashland Creek and will temporarily impact the Greenway path requiring closure. The Pump Station is located at the northern end of the Wastewater Treatment Plant approximately 20 feet from Ashland Creek. Due to the constrictions at this location and with additional trucks and heavy equipment in this area, it is necessary to temporarily close the Greenway during working hours from 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. The closure will be effective between Sept 7 through Nov 9, 1999. During this time, a detour route will be available from the Greenway Bridge at the confluence of Ashland and Bear Creeks. The detour will reroute Greenway users across Ashland Creek toward Ashland Pond and along a pathway to Glendower St. The Greenway will be opened during non-construction hours and on weekends. We sincerely appreciate our community's understanding and indulgence in our efforts to provide for this important construction project and ensure safety of all that use the Greenway.
