Two Controlled Burns Planned for Wednesday, December 11th

Two controlled burns are scheduled for Wednesday, December 11th on the West side of the Ashland Watershed. Conditions for burning are good with a weather system that will move smoke away from town.

The first burn is located off the U.S. Forest Service Road 2060 (Lithia Loop Road). Smoke is not expected to impact trails or roads. Several alternative trails can be accessed on the East Side of the Watershed off Tolman Creek Road or the Ashland Loop Road.

A second burn is located well above Hitt Road. Smoke could be visible from several parts of the community. No road or trail impact is expected.
  • Burn locations can be accessed through an online map. The color coded map shows active controlled burns in red, monitored burns in yellow and planned burns in blue.
  • If you live close to the burn location, keep windows closed and if you smell smoke, follow health recommendations on Smokewise Ashland.
