Can you imagine a day without water? On Wednesday, October 23, local organizations in the
Rogue Basin will join forces for a day of education and advocacy as part of the national “Imagine a Day without Water” campaign, begun in 2015 as a project of
The Value of Water Campaign.
Turning on the tap for clean, safe drinking water and flushing the toilet with no second thought about what happens to wastewater, are actions most Americans take for granted every day. But drought, flooding and population changes are stressing our water and wastewater systems. “Imagine a Day without Water 2019” will be an opportunity to learn more about not taking water for granted and the crucial need for investment in our region’s water systems.
The Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission, in collaboration with the Ashland Conservation Division, will extend a “Day without Water” into a full week of water education. October 22-26
th free classes and tours will be available for community members to explore Ashland’s water infrastructure and home water systems. Classes will include practical techniques to protect water resources and conserve water at home.
