North Main Refuge Island Project to begin in early October 2019

The contract work will begin on the North Main Refuge Island Project on North Main @ North Main, just before the railroad trestle, in early October 2019.  The project will consist of removing approximately 100 feet of existing center island to provide a middle refuge for vehicles entering the highway then merging into the northbound traffic stream.  Traffic lanes will be shifted slightly but will remain open during construction.  Please slow down and be aware of flaggers, construction personnel, and equipment.  We apologize for any inconvenience during construction. The project is anticipated to be fully complete in six to eight weeks, and the area will remain accessible during construction.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Public Works department at 541-488-5587.
