Happy Holidays! We had a GREAT fall burn season that wrapped up on December 19th. Here’s what the Ashland Forest Resiliency Stewardship Project accomplished in only four weeks this fall:
942 acres of piles burned. That’s 47,100 piles of sticks gone, lowering fire danger in and around our watershed and
$188,000 went to wages, just for fall burning. Work in the woods is an investment in jobs and families in the Rogue Valley.
We have roughly 2,500 acres left to burn before summer fire season, so expect to see more smoke after January 2nd, 2019. We’re working hard to decrease wildfire risk to our community and watershed.
